This app is for Vets, vet technicians and veterinary students worldwide.

Dog and cat medicine is taught at all veterinary schools, however education in exotic animal medicine is greatly lacking. This contrasts with the frequency at which rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, tortoises and other reptiles and birds are presented at the veterinary surgery.

Vets are left with no specific training on dealing with these species, and although data is available in books, it usually has to be sourced and may be difficult to obtain if the practice does not have the relevant texts.

Veterinary Care of Exotic Pets is designed to provide biological data on the commonly presented exotic species and includes:

Biological data on commonly presented exotic species, providing answers to common enquiries (e.g. how long is a rabbit pregnant for? When does a guinea-pig become reproductively active? What is the normal temperature of a chinchilla?)
A comprehensive list of common ailments
A list of commonly used drugs and their doses
Gallery of examples of some common conditions and radiographic data
Video clips of blood sampling each species

All this information combines into an app which will allow the vet to easily access some basic information, know which diseases are common in that species, how to treat them and how to work cases up by blood sampling.

This app will prove to be an invaluable mobile resource for Vets, Vet Nurses, Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Students worldwide. The concept of updates means that this App will never go out of date and can be added to as necessary in the future.
